How I became a coach – my transformation from Caterpillar to Butterfly
I have always been a searcher, and my journey has been immensely diverse and fascinating, but the most recent chapter in my life started at the end of 2011, when a friend gave me a little red book. She had been decluttering and this was one of the things she had decided to get rid off. That wasn’t a great sell for me, so the book stayed untouched on my bookshelf for a couple of weeks until one day I took it in hand to throw it out. That’s when I really looked at it for the first time. This book was Supercoach, by Michael Neill. I was prompted to read a couple of lines of it before chucking it, … but once I started I just couldn’t stop reading it. I devoured the whole book in one go!
I had arrived at a point in my life where I had everything I had ever wanted, and to my dismay I just wasn’t happy. I had this deep feeling of dissatisfaction eating at me. I don’t know exactly what it was, but there was something in that book that really spoke to me. It filled me with hope.
I went on Michael Neill’s website and saw that he was offering this training called Supercoach Academy. It was a professional coaching training. I didn’t know a thing about coaching, nor any of the faculty, but I just knew right away that I had to sign up for this! So I did. Just like that. It was the biggest investment I ever made, the most expensive thing I had ever bought. It was a leap of faith and I took that leap. This was the beginning of an incredible journey of discovery.
Throughout this training in sunny Santa Monica my whole life transformed. I quit my job, sold and gave away almost all my possessions, met some of the most inspiring and fun people I had ever met, made new friends for life and through the teachings of the Three Principles, I finally started to understand how life REALLY works. It was as if someone finally handed me the manual that I so wished I had had while growing up. Naturally, I wanted to share all this and give others the opportunity to learn what I had learned along the way, so throughout my training, I also started to coach clients.
In June 2012 I became a Certified Transformative Coach™. In many ways the end this training was just the beginnig for me. I signed up for an advanced training, and my learning continued in Switserland, LA, Seattle, New York, La Conner, Salt Spring Island and London – with the best teachers in the world.
In April 2013, after graduating as an Advanced Certified Transformative Coach™, George and Linda Pransky and Barbara Patterson became my mentors, helping me to deepen my own grounding and improve my work with my clients.
Today I have a sense of satisfaction, enjoyment and freedom beyond anything I could ever have imagined … and I know it is available for every human being, regardless of their circumstances. If you want to know how, get in touch and we’ll schedule a conversation!
